An 18-year-old man, identified as Samuel Brown, has been arrested in connection with a shooting and robbery at an East Memphis convenience store that took place last month. As reported by Action News 5, the incident occurred at the Prescott Mart on Sharpe Avenue on February 12. Brown faces charges including attempted first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated robbery.

According to FOX13 Memphis, the shootout ensued when Brown, known as "Sam," allegedly pointed a handgun at the 17-year-old victim during a handgun exchange, leading to the victim's injury. Trying to stop the robbery, the victim, standing at the counter paying for items, witnesses said he attempted to intervene when the suspect fired the shots.

Brown was later identified from surveillance footage from the scene, which corroborated the witness testimony, and was selected in a six-person lineup. WREG Memphis reports that Brown allegedly took $300 along with the black Glock 9mm handgun before shooting the victim, who saw his brother being held at gunpoint and tried to intervene.

Brown's arrest was made yesterday, following the shooting incident in February. He is due to make a court appearance today and is currently being held on a $200,000 bond. Despite the surveillance video playing a key role in identifying Brown, none of the articles mention whether the victims knew Brown prior to the attempted sale and subsequent robbery.
