
A 32-year-old woman was carjacked in Old North St. Louis near N. Market and Hadley Streets. The suspect reportedly threatened her at gunpoint, demanded she leave her Pontiac G6 with her belongings inside, and then fled in the vehicle, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
After taking a vehicle, the suspect fled, but a detailed description of both the suspect and the stolen Pontiac G6 was shared with local law enforcement. Officers located the car using signals from the victim's phone and spotted it leaving a salvage yard on the 3800 block of Cote Brilliante. The suspect attempted to escape, leading police on a chase that ended in a collision on I-70, as stated by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
A 34-year-old man was arrested on the 1300 block of Dunn Road after a police pursuit involving a stolen vehicle. The chase, which went through St. Louis County, ended when officers used spike strips. No injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are asking witnesses to come forward with information, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
