A tragic incident occurred in Mission Hills this week, where a hit-and-run driver struck and fatally injured a 69-year-old man. The San Diego Police Department released details of the incident, noting that the man was walking down the middle of 2100 Hancock Street when a white Dodge Challenger heading southbound collided with him before fleeing the scene.
The collision happened yesterday at approximately 12:40 PM, as reported by Officer J. Perales, the SDPD Watch Commander. Following the accident, the injured pedestrian, whose identity has not been disclosed, was urgently taken to a local hospital, where sadly, he was pronounced dead due to the extent of his injuries. All while the person driving the Dodge remains at large.
The SDPD's Western Division and Traffic Division are currently investigating this incident. They urge anyone who might have witnessed the event or has any related information to come forward to assist in locating the driver responsible.
