Two men were arrested yesterday morning in Pembroke Pines after a fight that led to one man being stabbed. Keano Johnson, 26, is accused of stabbing Chuck Leigh Forbes, 37, who allegedly stole from Johnson at a coin laundry. Johnson bought a knife at a nearby store, chased Forbes, and stabbed him in the back, as reported by NBC Miami.
The incident took place along Pines Boulevard, and surveillance footage shows a man in a black hoodie chasing a man in an orange vest. After the stabbing, the two struggled on the street until police arrived. Authorities have not confirmed if the knife came from the store, but its purchase could suggest it did.
Pembroke Pines Police said Johnson faces a stabbing charge, and Forbes was arrested for theft. According to Local 10, Forbes, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was treated at a local hospital. Both men were reportedly transients. Witnesses said Forbes had been bullying Johnson before the incident.
Ricky, an employee from a nearby transmission shop told NBC Miami, "The only thing I had seen was the knife in the back. He was lying on the road face down. They were working on him, they bandaged him up with the knife still in him, and then they took him."
