Anoka County residents looking to clear out their closets and support a good cause have the perfect opportunity this March. The Anoka County License & Passport Centers, across five locations, are collecting donations in partnership with Granny's Closet, a local charity revered for nearly three decades of community service. The drive is open during business hours, providing a convenient drop-off for those wishing to contribute.

For those interested in participating, Granny's Closet is seeking a variety of new and gently used items. Specifically on the lookout for new cleaning supplies and bed and bath items, residents can drop off their contributions at Blaine, Columbia Heights, Coon Rapids, Ham Lake, and Ramsey centers from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on most weekdays, and with extended hours till 6 p.m on Tuesdays, according to an announcement made by the Anoka County government.

While the items needed span various household categories, there is particular emphasis on new personal care items and kitchen utensils and appliances in great condition.

The donated items will address fundamental needs, from the cleanliness maintained by detergents and household cleaners, to the dignity offered by personal care products like combs and deodorant. By contributing articles like dishes and appliances, donors can also partake in setting the table for someone's new beginning. A comprehensive list of requested items can be found on the Anoka County website for those eager to make a difference.
