The Arizona Renaissance Festival will continue as scheduled despite a fire that broke out earlier this week. Firefighters responded just before 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday after heavy smoke was seen coming from a large steel commercial building, as per FOX 10 Phoenix.
The fire was upgraded to a first alarm, prompting additional crews from Mesa and Gilbert to assist, according to Superstition Fire and Medical District spokesperson Sophie Boukatch. "Firefighters faced intense heat and flames as they worked to contain the blaze," as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.
No injuries were reported after a fire at the Renaissance Festival grounds. The Superstition Fire and Medical District remained on-site on Wednesday morning to manage hot spots. Cleanup followed to ensure the area was safe, as mentioned by 12 News. Officials confirmed the fire will not affect the festival's schedule, which will continue on weekends through the end of the month. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage remain unknown.
