
The Atlanta Braves are hosting a block party in Summerhill on March 27 to celebrate the start of the 2025 season, which kicks off with an away game against the San Diego Padres. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the event will feature live music, lawn games, contests, and a variety of food and drinks along Georgia Avenue and Reed Street. The party begins at 3:30 p.m., leading into a watch party for the opening game at 4:10 p.m.
The Braves will also showcase the Braves Country Road Trip: An All-Star Experience at the block party. Fans can view MLB All-Star memorabilia, take interactive photos, and enter giveaways for MLB All-Star Week tickets and hotel stays. The Braves Country Road Trip will travel through Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina leading up to the All-Star Game at Truist Park on July 15, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
In player news, Braves outfielder Jurickson Profar is expected to be ready for Opening Day after recovering from a bone bruise in his left wrist. Profar, 32, suffered the injury during a Grapefruit League game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Initial X-rays showed no fractures, but a CT scan confirmed the bone bruise. Profar had a strong 2024 season with the San Diego Padres and was signed by the Braves to a three-year, $42 million contract.
Profar is expected to join Ronald Acuna Jr. and Michael Harris II in the Braves’ outfield this season. According to Atlanta News First, Profar's recovery is progressing well, and he is expected to be ready for Opening Day against the Padres. His performance in spring training has shown promise, with two hits in 12 at-bats.
