In a late-night incident that shook the Lakewood Heights community, Atlanta Police were called to the scene of a shooting at 1676 Lakewood Ave. SE. In a statement obtained by the Atlanta Police Department, at approximately 11:47 p.m, last Friday, officers from Zone 3 arrived to find a 27-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to the local hospital; however, he later died as a result of his injuries. This marks another harrowing instance of gun violence in an area all too familiar with the sound of sirens and the anguish that follows.
