Political titans of the progressive movement, Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, are set to energize their support base in Arizona with an upcoming rally focusing on their anti-oligarchy message. Titled "Fighting Oligarchy: Where We Go From Here," the event aims to connect with working people and voice shared frustrations with the current state of governance, as per Phoenix New Times.
The event is scheduled for March 20 at Arizona State University's Mullett Arena, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and speakers taking the stage at 6 p.m., as duly noted in an announcement from Phoenix New Times.
"This is like presidential campaign rallies, isn’t it? But I’m not running for president, and this is not a campaign," Sanders told 12News. "You gotta do what you gotta do."
Amidst a tumultuous political landscape, particularly following a second term with Trump at the helm, Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez have emerged as figures of hope for many within the Democratic Party seeking a firmer stance and clearer direction. The presence of Musk's growing influence alongside the executive branch's shrinking workforce and weakened federal oversight has spurred a sense of urgency for proactive measures, as per 12News.
