
The search for a missing New Hampshire woman has come to a tragic end as authorities in Westford, Massachusetts, discovered her deceased. The Westford Police Department shared via social media that 73-year-old Margaret Hammersley was found in the waters of Forge Pond yesterday.
Official reports indicate that Hammersley was discovered near the Groton town line, by a member of the NEMLEC Search Team at approximately 1:05 p.m., the day after she was reported missing. Her vehicle had been located in Westford the evening before, which led to an extensive search by various local and state public safety agencies, her vehicle had been found abandoned, prompting this response.
The ongoing investigation is a collaborative effort between the Westford Police Department's Special Services Division and Massachusetts State Police Troopers assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office. Additional details surrounding Hammersley's disappearance and the cause of her death have yet to be disclosed as the investigation continues.
