Boston police arrested a man in Roxbury after finding a large amount of cocaine in his vehicle. The arrest took place just before 9:00 PM on Friday at Blue Hill Avenue and Quincy Street. According to the Boston Police Department, officers from District B-2 stopped 39-year-old Roberto Lima of Randolph for blocking a crosswalk.
Boston police reported that during a traffic stop, Lima did not turn off his vehicle when instructed and instead reached for the gear shifter. Officers intervened, turned off the vehicle, and attempted to detain him. Lima resisted as they placed him in handcuffs but was eventually taken into custody without further incident, as reported by the Boston Police Department.
After his arrest, a search of Lima's vehicle found approximately 115 grams of cocaine in a large plastic bag and three medium-sized bags inside a mason jar. He is charged with drug trafficking for possessing 100 to 200 grams of a Class B substance, resisting arrest, and failing to stop for police. His arraignment is scheduled in Dorchester District Court, as stated by the Boston Police Department.
