Residents in Brentwood are urged to remain vigilant after an incident involving a stolen vehicle and the recovery of stolen mail, including sensitive tax documents. According to a social media post from the City of Brentwood Police Department, a 35-year-old suspect from Concord was arrested yesterday after a police officer located a car that had been reported stolen four days prior.
The suspect, identified as Gustavo MontanoRazo, tried to evade police on foot but was quickly apprehended following a brief chase. During his arrest, authorities found suspected narcotics on MontanoRazo and stolen mail in the retrieved vehicle. It was also noted that MontanoRazo was on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) at the time of the incident.
The discovery of the stolen mail is particularly concerning as it includes tax paperwork, prompting a warning from authorities. The apprehension of MontanoRazo led to his booking into jail, where he faced charges related to vehicle theft, possession of narcotics, and the possession of stolen property.
