Buckeye City Manager Dan Cotterman has resigned amid a criminal investigation. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the inquiry began after the Department of Child Safety reported allegations to officials last Tuesday.
The Buckeye Police Department requested the Glendale Police Department to take over the investigation to ensure objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest. During an executive council session last Friday, Cotterman was placed on administrative leave. Buckeye's Deputy City Manager, David Roderique, was appointed as interim city manager, as per ABC15.
The Glendale Police are conducting an active investigation involving Cotterman, with authorities stating, "This is an active and open investigation, and we will not be releasing any details about this case or the investigation," as stated by FOX 10 Phoenix. Cotterman has resigned but has not been arrested or charged. City officials have confirmed their cooperation with the investigation, though the nature of the complaints has not been disclosed.
