An indictment has come to light bringing forth serious allegations against an 18-year-old Butler County inmate named Dominick Grubb who is accused of attempting to orchestrate the murder of a woman from behind bars, according to court documents. Initially imprisoned on charges of aggravated robbery, Grubb's charges have compounded to include conspiracy to commit murder, as reported by local sources including WLWT and FOX19.
The alleged conspiracy unfolded between December 24, 2024, and January 3, 2025, prosecutors claim Grubb solicited a confidential informant to carry out the killing providing specific details such as the target's home address, car description, and her child's bus stop, the latter was exposed as Grubb, displaying a chilling indifference, allegedly expressed that he “did not care if the intended victim’s child was also killed during the shooting,” this according to information obtained by The Journal-News.
In a twisted turn, the informant, whom Grubb approached, happened to be an informant, this collaboration with law enforcement was unknowingly a crucial component in disrupting the plot meant to end in tragedy. According to court documents, an amount of $100 was floated by Grubb as an initial payment for the morbid task, this money was to be deposited into the informant's jail commissary account; the deposit, shockingly enough, was completed by Grubb's own mother following his instructions over a jailhouse phone call.
The payment arrangement, as described in court records, didn't stop at that $100 commissary deposit, it also included the promise of a firearm and a cash remuneration amounting to $2,500 upon the completion of the murder, Grubb was as methodical as he was cold-hearted in providing detailed information that even spanned the victim's social media accounts, court documents provided by various local news outlets like WLWT reveal, in what would have been if not for the informant, an intricately weaved web of malice and murder.
