The City of Chandler's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Division is preparing for the third annual Women's Empowerment Luncheon, an event dedicated to inspiring and celebrating local leaders who just happen to be women. Set on Friday, May 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Chandler Center for the Arts, this event isn't just another nod to women's history month but a support for the contributions women make every day.
Keynote speaker, Nicole Lance, an individual with certifications up the wazoo in coaching, will lead the charge on "courageous transformations", a tip of the cap to her expertise in steering folks and teams towards their professional north stars. According to the city's announcement, she's not only a coach but a wordsmith, authoring titles like "Awesome on Your Own Terms: Stop Shoulding and Start Succeeding" and the cheekily named "Hot Tub Mommy: Do All Moms Swear This Much?" alongside the more staid "Bold on the Inside: Amplify Your Impact Without Raising Your Voice".
After Lance, a panel of female power players will share their trials and triumphs. The panel's roster reads like the who's who of Arizonan leadership: Justice Maria Elena Cruz, of Arizona Supreme Court fame; President Azra Hussain of the Islamic Speakers Bureau of Arizona; Jody Jackson, who can talk a good game when it comes to MLB and sports broadcasting, and none other than Miss Indian Arizona 2024-2025 Isabella Kara Newman, representing culture and heritage with grace.
Seating is limited and advance registration is required. Priority will be given to those who reside, work, or volunteer in Chandler.
