As the rain recedes and Chicago's winds start to show some clemency, the city is set to experience sunshine with a bite of chilly temperatures. According to FOX 32 Chicago, by later today, the sky will clear up to mostly sunny, allowing temperatures to ascend to the mid to upper 40s – only a few degrees shy of the normal high around this time of the year. Even as the winds ease, the temperatures tonight will hover in the mid-30s under the cover of partly cloudy skies.
Finally a break from the windy conditions this work week after today’s winds ease. Increasingly dry conditions this afternoon may result in elevated fire danger south of the Illinois & Kankakee Rivers. Late tonight thru Tue, portions of the area may see some precip. #ILwx #INwx pic.twitter.com/kHUULYGOE4

This brief respite from the wetter weather could see tomorrow's early risers greeted with a light shower or a mix of rain and snowflakes, yet nothing that would halt the city's heartbeat, highs will, however, grapple to even touch the 40° mark. Meanwhile, FOX 32 Chicago indicates a more generous sunshine come Wednesday with highs potentially reaching the lower 50s.
A warming trend is set from Thursday through the weekend, with highs reaching the 60s by Friday. However, rain is likely starting late Thursday night and continuing through the weekend, as per the National Weather Service.
