Commuters in Cincinnati should brace for detours this weekend, as road closures are set to impact traffic flow in key areas starting this evening. According to the City of Cincinnati, William Howard Taft Road will be blocked off between Torrence Parkway and East McMillan Street, while Collins Avenue will see closures at Riverside Drive from 6:30 pm today until the morning of March 10.
The City recommends Torrence Parkway, Madison Road, and Woodburn Avenue as alternatives for those aiming to navigate around the shutdown lanes, in what sounds like could become a challenging few days for drivers used to the regular pathways, Residents who live within the vicinity of the closures will have access to their homes through three designated security checkpoints, these will be marked at William Howard Taft Road and Torrence Parkway, William Howard Taft Road and E McMillan Street, and Riverside Drive and Collins Ave – the latter exclusively for Gladstone Ave residents.
Enforcement at the checkpoints will be stepped up during this period, and the City advises locals to allow for added travel time due to the increased security measures. Delivery trucks and other commercial vehicles serving addresses in the affected areas will need to navigate these checkpoints as well. The goal is to maintain regular service that is practical within the constraints posed by the roadwork.
