In a heartfelt nod to unwavering dedication and the spirit of camaraderie, the Clark County Sheriff's Office in Washington State took to social media to celebrate one of their own, CCSO Deputy Carson Theis, for his display of exceptional attitude, hard work, and teamwork. The ceremony, held at the SW Regional Academy, recognized Deputy Theis with the Jeremy Brown Lion’s Heart Award, a commendation named after the late Sergeant Jeremy Brown who lived and served with valor.
Every close of the Defensive Tactics training at the Academy brings with it the tradition of honoring one recruit who stands out among their peers. This time, the honor was shared between Deputy Theis and an unnamed classmate from the Camas Police Department. Both exemplified qualities that resonate with the ethos of the award, named after Sergeant Brown, who gave his life in the line of duty. The CCSO proudly announced this in a statement on Facebook.
The selection process for this prestigious award involves a vote amongst the Defensive Tactics instructors, highlighting the importance of peer recognition within the training framework. Deputy Theis's commitment not only earned him the award but also the honor of adding his name to the Jeremy Brown Memorial Gym’s brick wall, a steadfast monument amidst the facility surrounding Sergeant Brown's own memorial plaque.
