A construction worker was hospitalized after an accident at a Fort Lauderdale work site today. The incident occurred at 527 Orton Avenue when the worker came into contact with a live wire while handling rebar, resulting in burns and multiple injuries, as reported by Local10.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue used a crane to lower the injured worker from the building. Video from the department showed the victim being brought down in a basket for treatment by paramedics, with burns and injuries from the fall, according to WSVN.
The worker's identity has not been released. After the rescue, he was taken to Broward Health Medical Center for further treatment.
