Last night, Nashville detectives apprehended 23-year-old convicted felon, Christopher Kee, after a traffic stop on Old Hickory Boulevard revealed a stash of drugs and a stolen firearm in his vehicle. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Kee, previously convicted of trafficking heroin in 2022, was detained while driving a white Tesla bearing a Missouri license plate linked to an earlier road rage altercation.
The vehicle stop that led to Kee's arrest was initiated when his car matched the description of a vehicle from which the driver brandished a handgun during the incident. Upon Kee's apprehension, police claim they recovered a handgun from the driver's seat that had been registered as stolen from Panama City Beach, Florida, last May. The presence of the gun alone would pose serious repercussions for Kee, who, as a convicted felon, is barred from weapon possession.
During the investigation, officers conducted a thorough search of Kee's Tesla, leading to the discovery of an alarming variety of illegal substances. Police found 18 grams of fentanyl, 94 M30 pills, 31 Xanax pills, 12 grams of methamphetamine, 23 grams of cocaine and a smaller quantity of 3.5 grams of marijuana. Additionally, paraphernalia commonly associated with drug trafficking, including needles, scales, and a sum of cash, was seized.
Kee now faces multiple charges: theft of a firearm, felony weapon possession, and being a felon in possession of a weapon on top of drug paraphernalia and five counts of drug possession. He is currently held in jail, with bond set at $102,000. The implications of this array of charges for Kee are severe, considering his priors and the quantities of drugs involved.
