Conyers is set to rejuvenate its spring season with a free concert series that will kick off on April 12. According to a recent report from the City of Conyers, the series will take place on Saturdays, with performances scheduled for April 12, May 10, and June 14 from 6 to 10 p.m. This year, Railroad Street will play host to the events, a change of venue due to ongoing construction.
Attendees can look forward to a diverse lineup of musical talent. The April 12 concert is set to feature the No Diggity Band, known for their mix of 90s-2000s hip-hop, pop, and R&B. They are described as "musical alchemists, seamlessly blending their own unique style and mash-ups." SamiAutomatic, with a reputation for commanding vocals, is slated to open for them, as detailed by the City of Conyers. Subsequent concerts promise equal excitement, with "Uptown Funk: The Ultimate Tribute to Bruno Mars," and the widely praised Prince tribute band, Marshall Charloff and the Purple XPeRIeNCE, headlining in May and June respectively.
Food trucks will be there to serve the crowds, with announcements about the participating vendors to be released on the city’s social media channels closer to each concert date. Concert-goers are encouraged to come prepared with chairs and blankets to comfortably enjoy the music and dining options under the open sky, though tents will not be allowed. Also new to the series is the offering of VIP tables which go on sale starting March 13, a feature that includes a round table with seating, a group photo by the event photographer, and concert swag.
Event Coordinator Jill Minnoia told the City of Conyers, "Last year’s concert series and the positive response from the thousands who attended exceeded our expectations, so we’re thrilled to welcome another fantastic slate of performers to take the Conyers stage." In addition to the performances, the series provides an opportunity for concert-goers to personally decorate their VIP tables with themes correlating to the concerts for a chance to win a prize.
Railroad Street will be closed to through-traffic on April 12, May 10, and June 14 starting at 9 a.m. to accommodate the stage setup and take down.
