The DeKalb County Police Department is hosting a one-stop hiring event next Saturday to simplify the recruitment process for those interested in law enforcement careers. The event will be held at the Tobie Grant Recreation Center in Scottdale, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., providing candidates with the opportunity to receive a conditional job offer.
As part of an effort to fill positions within the force, from recruits to certified officers, candidates can complete a significant portion of the hiring process in one day. This includes navigating the various stages of applications, physical tests, and interviews. According to a press release, DKPD is offering a starting salary of up to $64,050 for non-certified recruits, along with a $3,000 hiring incentive.
Further enhancing the appeal to join the DKPD are the additional perks such as competitive salary arrangements, extensive training programs, and the promise of excellent benefits and room for advancement within the department. Certified new officers stand to earn even more, with a starting salary of up to $73,500, in addition to a $5,000 hiring incentive for those who bring at least two years of experience to the table.
