The City of Duluth is launching a project to transform storm drains into works of art. The initiative aims to beautify streets and raise awareness about the importance of keeping waterways clean. The project will focus on Main Street and George Rogers Avenue, with the art installations set to be completed in the coming months, as per the City of Duluth website.
The project is a collaboration between the Explore Gwinnett Creativity Fund, Duluth Performing Arts Center (DPAC), City of Duluth Stormwater Division, Duluth High School, and Paint Love. Students from Duluth High School will create most of the artwork, which will help combine environmental conservation with community engagement.
The first of these installations will be completed later this Spring, and the City of Duluth will provide updates on the progress of the project.
