Atlanta police are asking the public to help identify a man caught on surveillance video breaking into a Midtown restaurant on Crescent Avenue and walking off with three bottles of alcohol. Officers responded to 1136 Crescent Ave NE after an audible alarm sounded on August 26, and found broken glass on the store's entry door when they arrived.
The business targeted was Fin and Feathers, according to FOX 5 Atlanta. Per the WSB-TV report on the incident, the suspect broke into the store and stole three bottles of alcohol, and the Atlanta Police Department's burglary unit is now asking for the public's help identifying him.
Fin and Feathers Restaurants is led by CEO Damon Johnson and operates multiple metro Atlanta locations, including Midtown, Riverdale, and Douglasville, marketing itself as a Southern-inspired restaurant and nightlife venue, per NewsmakersLive. A prior fatal shooting was reported at 1150 Crescent Ave. NE, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
A Reward and a Tip Line
Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the suspect's arrest and indictment. That ceiling reflects a reward increase the organization approved in March 2025, when it raised its standard maximum payout for anonymous tips from $2,000 to $5,000, according to the Atlanta Police Foundation.
The Atlanta Police Department is asking anyone with information to submit a tip to Crime Stoppers, which accepts anonymous submissions through multiple channels: the P3 Tips app, the website www.stopcrimeatl.org, its tip line at 404-577-8477, or by texting the keyword CSGA to 738477. Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta, run in partnership with the nonprofit Atlanta Police Foundation, has operated for more than 16 years and says it has helped clear over 2,000 local cases while removing $1.4 million in illegal drugs from the streets.
Break-In Bucks a Broader Safety Trend
The break-in occurred in Midtown. Separately, 11Alive reported that burglary was down 14% in Zones 3 and 4 so far that year.
The Crescent Avenue address is in Atlanta. Under Georgia Code § 16-7-1(c), breaking into a commercial building with intent to commit theft is charged as second-degree burglary, a felony carrying 1 to 5 years in prison for a first conviction, according to Justia Law. Georgia Code § 16-7-2 allows intentional, unauthorized entry into a retail establishment with intent to commit theft and damage exceeding $500 to be prosecuted as smash-and-grab burglary, a felony punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison and fines up to $100,000, per FindLaw.
The case follows a fatal shooting along Crescent Avenue that led to the arrest of Ricky Hutchinson in 2024. No arrest has been announced in the Fin and Feathers burglary, and police have not released a description of the suspect beyond the surveillance footage captured the morning of the break-in.
