First responders arrived at the scene near the Tennessee-Georgia state line shortly before 5:30 a.m., NewsChannel 9 reports. The Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department confirmed the incident and the subsequent firefighting efforts to extinguish the blaze.
According to the details provided by Local 3 News, one juvenile was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, while the rest of the passengers were evaluated on scene and found to be uninjured. The vehicle, which suffered extensive damage to the front end, came to a stop on the roadway, and a fire stemming from the detached engine spread into a nearby wooded area.
