Yesterday, El Paso County Sheriff's deputies, alongside Constable Precinct 6, successfully apprehended a suspect in a high-speed pursuit. The operation, part of an ongoing crime suppression initiative, resulted in the arrest of 25-year-old Jose Manuel Saldivar Jr. for attempting to evade law enforcement.
The incident began near N. Zaragoza Road, where deputies observed a white Ford F-150 struggling to maintain a single lane. The effort to pull over the vehicle was met with resistance, as the driver, now confirmed as Saldivar, sped away, prompting a chase. Concerned for public safety, deputies soon halted the pursuit, according to a social media post from El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte.
Using investigative leads, officers located Saldivar's registered address. The arrest occurred at his residence around 3 a.m., with additional support from a DPS Trooper. Saldivar now faces charges for Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle.
