City crews and contractors have completed the emergency repair of the water transmission line that disrupted service for residents. The leak was discovered on Saturday, prompting urgent efforts to restore service for customers on transmission line 3.
According to the City of Everett, after working around the clock since Saturday, the repair was finished, and water service has been restored. The city advised residents who notice sediment or discoloration in the water to let the water run until it becomes clear, preferably in a bathtub.
Homes that experienced a complete water outage are advised to run their taps for up to 30 minutes to clear any trapped air or turbidity. The city reassured residents that the water, though discolored, is safe to use after following the flushing procedure.
If any water quality issues persist after the 30-minute flushing or if residents need further assistance, the city has provided a helpline at 425-257-8821.
