The Marietta Educational Garden Center is hosting an open house called "Destination: Marietta" on Saturday next week from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event invites couples and event planners to explore the venue's unique blend of history and modern celebration, as announced by the City of Marietta.
Located at 505 Kennesaw Avenue, near Marietta Square, the event will showcase the center’s potential for hosting weddings, rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, baby showers, and other celebrations. Vendors will be present, offering giveaways, with one lucky attendee winning half-off their venue rental at Fair Oaks.
The event is funded by the FY2025 tourism grant from the City of Marietta, reflecting the community's commitment to celebrating life’s milestones. The Marietta Educational Garden Center, also known as "Fair Oaks," is a historic venue listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was originally constructed in the mid-19th century and restored in 1967.
Before becoming Fair Oaks, the site was on a trail used by the Cherokee and has served as the home to various civic organizations, including over 20 Marietta Garden Clubs and the Junior League of Cobb-Marietta.
