A motorcyclist tragically lost their life following a collision with a sedan in Orange County this afternoon. The Florida Highway Patrol reported the incident occurred at approximately 1:49 p.m. at the junction of Boggy Creek Road and Lake Nona Boulevard, near Orlando. FOX 35 Orlando described how preliminary reports reveal the crash involved a 2024 KTM Duke motorcycle and a 2010 Toyota Corolla.
After the crash, the unidentified rider of the motorcycle was transported swiftly to Orlando Regional Medical Center. There, they were pronounced dead, as confirmed by authorities. The driver of the Toyota also sustained injuries, which were classified as non-life-threatening, and was to receive treatment at the same hospital, detailed ClickOrlando. Officials have yet to disclose the specific dynamics of the collision fully.
The incident led to the closure of Boggy Creek Road south of Lake Nona Boulevard, a significant thoroughfare for the surrounding residential communities. WFTV reported that a roadblock is currently in place as the investigation continues. Motorists have been advised to seek alternate routes while the area remains restricted for travel.
