Flagstaff's convenience for taxpayers is taking a slight detour, as the Coconino County Treasurer's Office at 2304 N. 3rd Street will no longer offer its drive-through service starting Monday, March 3, 2025. Sarah Benatar, the Coconino County Treasurer, has stated that this office closure is a measure aimed at tightening the security around public funds and personal taxpayer information. Additionally, it aligns with expected changes in the state guidelines regarding staff roles at the end of the current fiscal year.

Residents looking to handle their tax matters in person can visit the office located inside Flagstaff Mall, which will now welcome them with extended hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. "At this moment our staffing levels and roles do not allow for us to maintain the drive-through location," Benatar expressed in a recent announcement. She added, "We will continue to look for ways to maintain excellent customer service for our residents while making sure public funds are secure and accounted for."

For those who prefer remote methods, the Treasurer's Office continues to facilitate property tax payments via their website, with credit or debit card payments accepted. Though, it's important to note that there is an additional fee for online or telephone transactions. Property owners have until May 1, 2025, to ensure their 2024 Property Tax payments are settled.

Taxpayers intent on handling their transactions via check, have the option to mail in their payments to the Treasurer's Office, ensuring that the envelope heads to 110 E. Cherry Ave., Flagstaff, AZ 86001, with checks payable to "Coconino County Treasurer." The memo line should clearly indicate "2024 Taxes, Parcel Number" to assist in swift processing. Inquiries and further assistance can be directed to Treasurer Benatar’s office at a toll-free number, 877-500-1818.
