Residents in Fort Worth's Near Southside can mark their calendars for an upcoming meeting to hear the latest on street improvements spearheaded by the City’s Transportation and Public Works Department. In what is becoming a familiar tale of urban renewal, the Near Southside is set to receive its sixth round of street enhancements, promising smoother rides and better transportation lanes, as per the City of Fort Worth.
Key thoroughfares scheduled for a makeover include Henderson St., from W. Terrell Ave. to Pennsylvania Ave., Galveston Ave., stretching from W. Broadway Ave. to W. Vickery Blvd., and Houston St., running between W. Daggett Ave. to W. Vickery Ave. With the work focused on rehabilitating these segments, the project aims to improve both traffic flow and the aesthetics of the neighborhood. Noting the schedule, the community meeting is an opportunity for locals to dive into the specifics planned for their streets.
