Atlanta residents looking for a second chance can attend the "I Have a Dream" record restriction event on April 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event, hosted by Fulton County Solicitor General Keith Gammage and Ambassador Andrew Young, aims to help individuals restrict access to their criminal records.
According to the Fulton County website, the event will be held at the Truist Andrew & Walter Young Family At-Promise Center at 2220B Campbellton Road SW in Atlanta. The event allows participants to start making certain offenses less visible, which can help with employment, education, housing, and military service.
It’s not an amnesty but a selective restriction of specific offenses. Participants should bring the necessary documentation. The event aims to help people overcome the barriers of a criminal record and improve their chances of reintegration.
