Communication is the watchword when it comes to teen safety, with Gilbert PD urging parents to sync up with their kids about their whereabouts, who they're mingling with, and their activities at all times, it's crucial to have a conversation about the significance of reporting any security concerns right to the police, they stress the imperative to report, not repost any violent acts on social media instead engaging with authorities directly. For minors, Gilbert has leveraged a curfew ordinance, stipulating that those under 16 should not loiter beyond their home boundaries between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., while 16- to 17-year-olds have their curfew fixed between midnight and 5:00 a.m.; parents or guardians could face consequences if they let their wards violate these curfews or fail to collect them from police post-arrest.
