Residents and commuters around Guadalupe and Cooper Roads are facing disruptions following a water main break that has led to road restrictions and traffic reroutes. The town of Gilbert announced that crews are already addressing the issue, with current closures affecting the center lanes in both directions of Guadalupe Road. According to the official statement from the town's website, they advise those traveling in the area to consider alternatives, such as Elliot Road and Gilbert Road, with an anticipation of the eastbound center lane reopening by Friday.
For those living in the vicinity, the repair work may lead to a temporary inconvenience of discolored, or brown water coming from the taps. The Gilbert officials have assured that this should clear up within a couple of hours after the repairs are done. If not, they have made provisions for residents to seek assistance. "Some customers may temporarily experience discolored or brown water due to the repairs but it should clear up after a couple of hours," states the town's notice. Residents who continue to face issues are encouraged to use Gilbert 311 and report under the “Water - Quality Brown Water“ category for support.
The town of Gilbert has expressed gratitude for the patience of its residents and commuters while the necessary repair work is carried out. With the crews working diligently to manage the situation swiftly and efficiently, updates are to be provided as further information becomes available, ensuring the public stays informed.
