During her visit, Whitmer is joined by distinguished delegates including Quentin L. Messer, Jr., CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation; Dr. Tim Boring, Director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture; and Scott Bowen, Director of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The team plans to meet with companies that already have a footprint in the state as well as potential investors. The United Kingdom is regarded as one of Michigan’s top foreign investors, with investments totaling over $2.6 billion in capital investments, as noted by WZZM13.
The visit underscores Michigan's hopes of withstanding the current U.S. tariff tensions under President Donald Trump.
