The Hawai‘i Police Department is inviting locals for a cup of joe and a chat with their district officers during a series of "Coffee With a Cop" events spread throughout March. This community outreach initiative aims to strengthen the ties between the public and law enforcement in an informal, agenda-free environment. According to Hawaii Police Department, the discussions could range from personal anecdotes to neighborhood concerns.
The popular gatherings are set to take place at various coffee spots from Kapaʻau to Kona, offering residents numerous opportunities to meet their local officers face-to-face. The first meet-up is scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at Kona Heaven Coffee, followed by subsequent meetings taking place nearly every other day throughout the rest of the month.
For those interested in attending, specific details for each event are available, ensuring that community members can find a convenient time and place to join the conversation. The events will be hosted at local favorites like Kona Mountain Coffee Co. and Waimea Coffee Company, among others. The full schedule of the "Coffee With a Cop" events can be found posted by the Hawai‘i Police Department.
