An ongoing investigation into a fatal shooting that resulted in the deaths of a 21-year-old man and a 9-month-old infant girl is currently being conducted by homicide detectives. The incident, which is being treated as a murder-suicide, happened on February 28 in the 5000 block of Cates. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to the shooting call shortly before 8:15 p.m. and found the victims with gunshot wounds.
At the scene, the man was pronounced dead by emergency medical services. Initially taken to the hospital, the infant tragically succumbed to her injuries. Detectives began probing into the events surrounding the evening in question after the call was received, yet despite their ongoing efforts, a suspect is not being actively sought in connection with the shootings.
