The Johns Creek Police Department recently canceled an Amber Alert for Milan Simpson, a 1-month-old girl, after she was reported safe following her abduction from her Johns Creek home. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the infant was taken yesterday at 1:41 p.m. by her noncustodial father, 29-year-old Jamale Darcel Simpson. At the time of her disappearance, she was described as a Black female child clad in a gray swaddle.
The girl and her father were last seen leaving a residence on Feather Sound Court at Old Alabama Road near Georgia 400. In their alert, authorities emphasized they believed the child to be in "extreme danger." The police were actively searching for a 2013 dark blue Jeep Grand Cherokee, which was the vehicle seen used during the abduction. A family member, however, eventually brought Milan back to her home near Old Alabama Sydney Marcus Boulevard and Ga. 400, as noted by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The Amber Alert system, also known as a Levi's Call in Georgia, was instrumental in disseminating the information necessary to aid in the child's recovery. The alert was issued shortly after the abduction was reported and was broadly broadcast across the region to alert the public.
While Milan Simpson is now back with her family, Jamale Simpson remains at large. The Johns Creek Police Department has urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.
