Looking to do something good for your community and the environment? The City of St. Peters is calling on volunteers for its annual Clean Streams Day on April 12, where locals can join forces to remove trash from Spencer Creek and tributaries to Dardenne Creek. The event is set to take place on Saturday at 370 Lakeside Park’s Corporate Pavilion, where the day will start with a check-in at 8 a.m., according to an announcement on the City of St. Peters' website.

St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano expresses the importance of the event, saying "The City of St. Peters has been hosting Clean Streams Day since 2000, and the volunteers who participate in cleaning our streams year after year provide a very valuable community service." With the aim to better the environment and enhance quality of life, families and local organizations are encouraged to get involved. Those interested have until April 4 to register and can choose from over 20 creek segments, detailed online with maps and difficulty levels, as per the City of St. Peters.

What's in it for volunteers? Besides doing their bit for the planet, participants will enjoy complimentary donuts, juice, and water during the check-in. Post-stream cleaning, a free hot dog lunch awaits volunteers who make their way back to 370 Lakeside Park after 11 a.m. To sweeten the deal, all helpers will also score a free Missouri Stream Team T-shirt courtesy of the Missouri Department of Conservation.
