The Kingsport Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization (MTPO) is seeking input from residents with a new travel survey aimed at understanding commuting patterns across Tennessee. The My Travels Count survey is a collaboration between the University of Tennessee's Center for Transportation Research (CTR) and local transportation planners, as per the City of Kingsport website.
The goal of the survey is to better understand daily travel habits, from individual errands to broader statewide transit routes. The information gathered will help shape future transportation planning and address community needs. Residents will receive recruitment letters in the coming weeks, inviting select households to participate and share their insights on transportation issues like bus routes, road repairs, and bike lanes.
If you're not among the first to receive an invite, another round of invitations will be sent in the fall. The survey aims to gather comprehensive data to improve Tennessee's transportation system by focusing on the diverse needs and travel preferences of the community.
