In a recent post from the Knoxville Police Department shared on social media, four officers were recognized for their valiant efforts during a life-threatening incident. Officers Marasigan, Morgan, Barnett, and Seaman received Meritorious Service Awards at roll call, a distinction among the most prestigious KPD ranks.
The commendation resulted from their actions in December when they endeavored to save an individual from a blazing car on Hall of Fame Drive near I-40, as indicated by the Knoxville Police Department's statement.
The post detailed the circumstances of the event, noting that despite the officers' best attempts, the fire engulfed the vehicle, tragically resulting in the death of the trapped person. Even with this unfortunate ending, the department emphasized the exceptional bravery of the officers involved.
