Lake Havasu City has laid out its plans for water and paving upgrades along Smoketree Avenue North, with a chunk of Mesquite Avenue slated for a month-long closure starting Monday, March 3. Lake Havasu City details the temporary road closure between Smoketree Avenue and Riviera Drive, in effect from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily until April 11.
Caught in between the efforts to modernize the city's veins that carry its water, residents, and commuters will see Mesquite Avenue eastbound remain open to serve local businesses and those who call that stretch of road home. Officials are directing motorists to a detour around the construction zone, advising everyone to adjust their travel plans to avoid delays, according to Lake Havasu City.
"We thank residents and commuters for their patience and understanding as these essential upgrades are carried out to improve the city’s infrastructure," was the sentiment expressed in the city's statement.
