Officers from Madisonville Police Department's Delta Patrol Shift responded to a late-night alarm at Checkered Flag Market on Highway 411 after reports of shots being fired. The incident, occurring around 11 PM last night, led to the apprehension of an armed suspect, Leonidas Velghe, who had fled the scene and was later found by officers in close proximity to the crime site, as reported by the Madisonville Police Department - TN.
Dressed to elude in head-to-toe black, gloves, and a mask, the suspect had two pistols and a backpack of stolen goods, Velghe was nabbed near Wayman Road and Stinnett Ridge Road the rash and precipitous action of the Madisonville Police Department was fundamental in neutralizing what could have been a scenario much graver. Over a dozen spent 9mm rounds and evidence of gunfire damage to the Market's exterior were discovered.
