A man was arrested after a family dispute turned violent on San Antonio's far West Side on Friday night. According to FOX San Antonio, officers responded to a shooting in progress around 10:15 p.m. at a home on Barrel Point near North Ellison Drive. They found that a 40-year-old man had been in a physical altercation with his 19-year-old son.
A 39-year-old woman attempted to intervene and was assaulted by the suspect. Both victims escaped the house safely. The suspect then fired a shot outside before re-entering, pointing a gun at the woman, and threatening her. He then barricaded himself inside the home with his two young children, as reported by News 4 San Antonio.
A standoff in San Antonio ended when a man surrendered to police. He has been charged with two counts of Assault Causing Bodily Injury - Family Violence and one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Authorities have not released his identity or information about the children involved, as mentioned by FOX San Antonio and News 4 San Antonio.
