
A man was found dead under suspicious circumstances last Saturday night in Redwood City, police report. The 44-year-old male was discovered unresponsive on the 600 Block of Fox Court East shortly before midnight. Despite resuscitation attempts by both individuals on the scene and first responders, the man was declared deceased on site.
The call came in at approximately 11:40 P.M. police officers were swiftly dispatched to the scene. On their arrival, they found the man was not breathing and immediately commenced life-saving efforts. These efforts were continued by the Redwood City Fire Department and paramedics when they arrived but were ultimately unsuccessful. As per the Redwood City Police Department indicated that, "Officers immediately began life-saving efforts, taking over from individuals at the scene, until personnel from the Redwood City Fire Department and paramedics arrived." This suggests that there was a significant attempt to revive the victim before he was pronounced dead.
Investigators are now working closely with the San Mateo County Coroner's Office to ascertain the cause of death. The age of the man and the unclear circumstances leading to his demise have led authorities to explore various angles to determine whether foul play was involved. Thus far, the investigation has not pointed towards a threat to the community, indicating that this incident may be isolated. The Redwood City Police Department has clearly communicated, "At this time, there is no ongoing threat to public safety."
