A man was grazed by a bullet during a shooting last night in Kingsway East, prompting an investigation by District 5 police. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. near Euclid Avenue & Leduc Street, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
The authorities were alerted to the shooting after the victims arrived at a hospital shortly before midnight. A 26-year-old man sought treatment for a graze wound to his head, his recollection of events, hampered because he was absorbed in his phone at the moment of the shooting. His companion, a 24-year-old man, told police that their vehicle was struck by gunfire while driving at the intersection where the incident took place. Following the shooting, an unidentified individual transported the two to the hospital and departed before police could arrive on the scene.
The man with the graze wound is reported to be in stable condition. As the investigation progresses, detectives are piecing together the circumstances of the gunfire that pierced the calm of a St. Louis neighborhood.
