
Last night in Walnut Park West, a 24-year-old man was shot and subsequently hospitalized with injuries to his arm and leg. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reports that the incident, which took place in the 6000 block of Lucille, is currently under investigation by District 6.
The victim, who arrived at the hospital shortly after the shooting, told officers that the attack occurred at around 10:40 p.m. He had planned to meet a woman for a date and, having exited his car to open the door for her, was ambushed by an unidentified male assailant firing gunshots from a nearby gangway. Having sustained gunshot wounds, he managed to flee and sought treatment at a local hospital, where he was described in critical but stable condition.
Investigators are actively seeking information on the suspect and the circumstances surrounding the violent encounter. The police urge anyone with knowledge pertaining to this crime to come forward.
