A robbery incident in Walnut Park West has surfaced after a 41-year-old man reported being held at gunpoint and robbed. According to St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of Goodfellow following a Hold-Up call received just past 11:00 PM last Saturday night.
The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, recounted his experience to the responding officers. He claimed that after leaving a casino, he accepted an offered ride home from two men and an woman whom he did not know. It was once they reached an alley in the specified block that the situation reportedly took a violent turn. "The two men each pulled a gun on him and demanded his money," as stated in the official report from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Further to the account provided by the victim to the police, he was sitting in the back of the black sedan when one of the assailants reached into his satchel and took a large sum of cash. The robbery escalated to physical violence as the victim alleged one of the men struck him in the face with a gun, before the suspects fired shots into the air and then fled the scene, leaving the victim with pain to his jaw although no injuries were observed by the officers upon arrival. However, details provided to the SLMPD have raised some questions, as officers noted "conflicting statements regarding the incident and location where it occurred."
