
Early Sunday morning, a road rage incident on Interstate 85 southbound resulted in a 56-year-old man being shot in the head, causing him to bleed near his eye. Troup County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at the scene near mile marker 21 around 6:30 a.m., where they discovered the victim parked on the interstate's edge. He was subsequently rushed to a hospital in the Columbus area for treatment. As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, the shooter, believed to be driving a silver Hyundai or Kia SUV, had allegedly cut off the victim multiple times before firing several shots at his vehicle.
While the perpetrator was last seen heading south on I-185 and still remains at large, the sheriff's office indicated that this violent outburst appears to be an isolated incident related to road rage. Firing several shots at the victim's car, one hit him in the head near the eye, Atlanta News First elaborated based on the information provided by officials. The Troup County Sheriff's Office is urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in identifying the suspect involved.
