Residents of Maricopa's Rancho El Dorado are set to come together to discuss the future skyline of their neighborhood, as a proposal to extend the height of a local tower looms on the horizon. SmartLink and AT&T, through Michael Hanna, have initiated a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) Request for the existing tower at the Duke Golf Course, located in the heart of the community. The details of this proposal were made public in a notice published on the City of Maricopa's official website on March 3rd, 2025.
The proposal, to be precisely outlined at an upcoming neighborhood meeting, is to significantly bolster the tower's height on a portion of APN # 512-03-0140. Concerned citizens and interested parties are encouraged to duly mark their calendars for March 7, 2025, when the discussion is set to take place at 2:00 p.m. directly on-site at The Duke at Rancho El Dorado, located at 42660 Rancho El Dorado Parkway.
Following the neighborhood discussion, the Maricopa Planning and Zoning Commission will convene to weigh the merits of the CUP request. Slated for March 24, 2025, the Commission will meet at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 39700 W. Civic Center Plaza.
For those seeking more detailed information or with specific questions regarding the tower height increase, LaRee Mason, the Assistant Planner for the city, remains available for contact. She can be reached at 520-316-6928 or via email at [email protected] with the subject line "Duke Tower."
